Challenge

Build a TPS where the narrative drove mechanics, not the other way around — without the team or budget of a real studio.

Approach

Tight scope: one mechanic per chapter, narrative beats baked into encounter design. Lots of cuts to keep the build shippable.

Outcome

Playable build, well-received within the small indie community we showed it to. Taught me everything I know about cutting scope.
